In April 1995, the St. Louis U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (CEMVS-ED-S) was designated as the Technical Center of Expertise (TCX) for Photogrammetric Mapping. Currently, the Geospatial Engineering Branch in the St. Louis District, continues to be a 'Center of Expertise' for photogrammetric mapping products and for the contracting of those services. The design services or technical assistance rendered by the St. Louis District as the TCX, and currently as the Geospatial Engineering Branch, to USACE commands are advisory. Services provided to our customers, including USACE commands and other government agencies, are on a reimbursable basis. As a Corps 'Corps Center of Expertise' for Photogrammetric Mapping, the St. Louis District maintains the technical capability and proficiency required for the planning, cost estimation, and acquisition of aerial photography, remote sensing, photogrammetric map compilation, soft-copy photogrammetry, and related spatial/digital mapping products used for input in GIS, CADD, LIS and AM/FM databases. The Geospatial Engineering Branch in the St. Louis District provides rapid response, full service photogrammetric mapping support to civil works, military design, construction activities, as well as to the environmental restoration programs.
Funding of Projects is accomplished on a cost reimbursable basis from a simple transfer of funds to a Memorandum of Agreement for a long term relationship with the various customer agencies.
